Anubias Pinto

Anubias ‘Pinto’ is a rare and highly sought-after freshwater aquarium plant known for its striking variegated leaves, featuring patterns of green, white, and cream marbling. It is a cultivated hybrid of Anubias barteri, prized for its unique coloration that makes it stand out in aquascapes.

This plant grows very slowly and prefers low to moderate lighting, as stronger light can sometimes cause the lighter variegated sections to brown or melt. It does not require CO₂ injection and is well-suited for low-tech aquariums, making it accessible despite its exotic appearance.

Like other Anubias species, ‘Pinto’ should be attached to driftwood, rocks, or hardscape rather than planted in substrate, since its rhizome must remain exposed to stay healthy. It is highly durable in terms of water parameters but demands a bit more care in lighting stability compared to standard green Anubias.

Because of its rarity and ornamental appearance, Anubias ‘Pinto’ is often used as a focal plant in aquascapes, nano tanks, and display setups where its unique coloring can really stand out against darker backgrounds.
